52 Republicans +7 (+8 from Democrats, -1 to Independents)
45 Democrats -8 (-8 to Republicans)
03 Independents +1 (+1 from Republicans)
If these projections stay in place, then the Senate would flip to the Republicans. Nonetheless, the Senate could easily fill with political intrigue. With a couple of surprise defeats, the GOP would only hold 50 seats – not enough to govern with a Democratic Vice President (or Independent) serving as a tiebreaker.
